In the start of summer, there suddenly were a bunch of other projects to be done. Therefore attention to the trailer slowed down. However I continued when I had some spare time;
The first I did was clean and inspect the lights it came with. They were two Hella lights, with what seemed a rear marker light and maybe blinkers? I’m not totally sure what output they have yet but they seem usable. Their backside was a but cracked, but I figured I could make a seal out of some neopren to make it watertight.
Afterwards I took a look at the piston to get a picture on what I had to order. As it was full of oil/grease and grass it had to be cleaned first. To my surprise the original paint was somewhat still intact under it. In totalt it seemed to be in quite good condition, and I’ve decided to not open it until I’ve tested it with my hand-pump. But the oil in it didn’t seem contaminated with water or anything, so I think the seals are good. Remains to be seen I guess.
When I now had its original color to compare with the painted parts I had, heh, I was true in my feeling of it being the wrong color. The one I had bought was a more brighter one. So I’ll have to see if I can find the right color-code for it, and if not I’ll end up using the one I have.
At the end of June I managed to acquire a place to rent for my machinery, so I can finally work in my own pace. This means I can also finally begin working on the frame, and have space to paint the wood when it some day arrives. So next on the list is start fixing the frame, and when that is done do the wiring for the lights.
